Danielle Smitham

Sound Therapy

Danielle lived and worked in Western Australia for over 10 years before recently returning to the UK to settle in Cumbria with her family.

A certified sound therapist through Kyela Sound Therapy and registered with IICT, Danielle is the founder of Resonate8, where she ran a successful sound therapy and Occupational Therapy practice in Australia. Alongside offering 1:1 therapeutic sessions and immersive group sound experiences, she also supported the training of future practitioners through the Australian College of Sound Therapy.

Her work focuses on creating deeply restorative spaces where sound frequencies support relaxation, nervous system regulation, and energetic balance. Danielle works intuitively with a wide range of instruments, including therapy-grade Himalayan singing bowls, solfeggio pipes, tuning forks, crystal chalices, and symphonic gongs, creating layered sound journeys tailored to each individual.

Danielle has delivered sessions in clinics, community settings, and clients’ homes, and facilitated group experiences for community organisations, corporate teams, carers, wellness events, schools, women’s festivals, and wellness circles.

Alongside her sound therapy practice, Danielle brings more than 20 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, supporting adults and children with complex mental health needs and disabilities. This depth of experience shapes her grounded, compassionate, and intuitive approach.

In 1:1 sessions, clients are welcomed into a calm, supportive environment where they can fully relax and be immersed in sound. Sessions include a gentle consultation, therapeutic sound work using a variety of instruments, and time afterwards for reflection and integration. Depending on individual needs, Danielle may also incorporate chakra balancing, energetic realignment, and aura work using sound.

Now based in Cumbria, Danielle is delighted to be part of the Health Barn team and is passionate about reconnecting with the local community while sharing the benefits of sound therapy as a gentle yet powerful holistic practice.
