Clinical Reflexology is a non-invasive therapy focusing on the hands or feet that works alongside conventional medical care. It helps to re-balance your body to achieve healing and well being in a relaxing, rejuvenating and therapeutic way. Clinical reflexology works on the principle that different areas of the feet, hands and face correspond to all the different areas of the body, including the internal organs and glands. It aims to bring balance to the whole body and mind.
Each session is based on the individual needs of the client. Everyone is different and our bodies may respond more quickly to some treatments rather than others. You may feel an improvement after one treatment, however it may be advisable to follow a course of treatments followed up with monthly maintenance visits. This all depends on an individual’s health and requirements.
The deep relaxation and improved sense of wellbeing can benefit anyone, but may be particularly beneficial for:
Effects on mood
Digestive problems such as IBS or constipation
Headaches and migraines
Muscular tension such as back, shoulder and neck pain
Hormonal imbalances e.g PMS, endometriosis, painful or heavy periods
Learned from the founder Sally Kay BSc (Hons) who developed the treatment whilst working in cancer care. It was devised for supporting people affected by cancer and is an invaluable reflexology treatment.
Working on the lymphatic system encourages the body to rid itself of waste and is therefore good for supporting people with lymphoedema, fibromyalgia, M.E and other immunocompromising conditions.
This is the opportunity to enjoy not only the benefits that reflexology may bring but also to allow you more time to indulge in a luxurious version of the treatment.
You begin the relaxation process by having your feet placed in our foot spa whilst enjoying the tranquil surroundings to help melt the stresses away. An oil infused foot massage will follow, with your feet being wrapped and placed in a heated slipper to help continue relaxation, before lying back and enjoying your reflexology treatment.
The focus is on you. Time is always given for you to relax and get the best out of your treatment. You can choose a foot scrub or from a range of aromatherapy oils from the Neal's Yard range.
