Alex Duckitt

Sports Massage, Soft Tissue Therapy & Dry Needling

Alex is a qualified Level 4 Sports Massage Therapist who studied at the University of Bath and has experience in providing treatment to a wide variety of clients from elite athletes to manual labourers and desk workers. With a history in competitive sport, Alex has received many treatments herself and understands the importance of keeping the body’s soft tissues functional and mobile to facilitate efficient movement and maximise performance both in sport and everyday life.

Soft Tissue Therapy has countless benefits for everyone, whether involved in sport and exercise or not. These benefits include reducing psychophysiological stress, improved sleep quality, toxin release, enhanced range of motion at joints, improved circulation and the alleviation of tension and pain within the body. It is a well-rounded treatment for everybody.

Alex is passionate about her practice and she directs her focus to treating the body and the individual in front of her. If the goal is simply relaxation or whether there is a specific injury or dysfunction which needs treating, she will select techniques accordingly.

After completing a qualification in Nutrition to support physical activity, Alex’s motivation to know more about the human body grew and how nutrition, exercise and rest work hand-in-hand to affect performance. Since qualifying as a Sports Massage Therapist, Alex has completed a course in Dry Needling which she now uses as an extra tool, where beneficial, to provide extra depth to her massage treatment for clients who are struggling with stubborn tension and dysfunctional range of motion. This knowledge combined allows Alex to adopt a holistic approach to overall health and wellbeing when treating her clients.

Her interests reside in the notion that everything in the body is connected in such a way that dysfunction in one area can present itself in other areas of the body and cause great pain and tension in the soft tissues. Alex uses all her knowledge from her different areas of expertise to create a wider picture for her clients in order to promote wellbeing in the long term.
